"I routinely require the services of investigators to interview witnesses, obtain statements and to generally do fact finding work for me. This work is often critical in terms of getting at facts which would otherwise not be apparent or available on the record. I have just completed work on a file in which a large claim was being advanced for loss of income/impaired earning capacity as a result of failed business following an auto accident injury. We needed to obtain collateral evidence on the claim to try and better understand the basis for the claim.
